Giving every Child a Great Head Start
STEM education allows children to begin learning and retaining knowledge and practices that they can build on as they grow older. STEM learning in the early years prepares children for academic success and future challenges in their learning years.
Oz Education Early Learning Centres are certified in STEM early learning ensuring that we embed age-appropriate STEM concepts and skills into our daily curriculum. In a playful way, our early learners are familiarised with scientific processes and learn to think scientifically through activities and games.
What is STEM education?
STEM represents the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics that are growing in demand due to an increased need for these skills in current and future jobs.
However, STEM education is not limited to only building knowledge in these fields. Oz Education’s inquiry-based, hands-on approach to STEM learning also promotes critical thinking, analysis, and many more future-ready skills.
Our STEM program is a collaborative process that encourages children to raise questions and explore their interests.
Benefits of our STEM education program
STEM education in early childhood enables children to use their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to try to understand how the world works and to solve problems.
In addition, our program nurture skills that extend beyond those needed to be successful in STEM fields with lasting benefits. It:
- cultivates creativity and out-of-the-box thinking
- lays the foundation for social and emotional intelligence
- raises children’s confidence
- fosters children’s abilities to plan, reflect and learn
- prepares them for academic success
From an early age, our early learners strengthen their practices of collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
These skills help our early learners to go beyond the traditional preschool skills with huge benefits toward their disposition for learning for school and beyond.
